Our Fire Warden, Fire Extinguisher and First Attack Firefighting Training course combines PUAFER005, PUAFER008 and CPPFES2005 to provide practical workplace emergency response skills. This course prepares participants to operate as part of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO), respond to workplace emergencies and safely use first attack firefighting equipment.
In addition, the course includes easy online pre-course learning followed by a 150-minute face-to-face practical assessment session. As a result, participants gain both theoretical knowledge and valuable hands-on experience using real firefighting equipment.

Pre-course and Online Study Requirements
Pre-course study: Students may be required to complete online pre-course work before attending the practical session, depending on the delivery mode.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other device with internet access to complete the online learning.

Assessment Requirements
Practical Assessments

Documentation Requirements
- Facility emergency equipment fault log
- Emergency evacuation incident and debrief form
Theory Assessment
The theory assessment includes multiple-choice and short-answer questions. Students must complete all assessment questions.
Certificate Renewal Requirements
- PUAFER005 – Operate as part of an emergency control organisation: Not applicable
- PUAFER008 – Confine small emergencies in a facility: Not applicable
- CPPFES2005 – Demonstrate first attack firefighting equipment: Not applicable
Certification
Certificates are generally issued on the same day following successful completion of training and assessment.
However, certificates may occasionally be issued on the next business day or the following Monday for Friday afternoon courses.
