CPR Course
HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The CPR Course (HLTAID009) provides the practical skills and confidence to recognise cardiac emergencies and perform life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Furthermore, this nationally recognised course follows Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines and current workplace first aid standards.
During this CPR Course, you will learn how to recognise cardiac arrest, assess an unconscious casualty, call emergency services, perform high-quality CPR and safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). As a result, you will develop the skills needed to improve a casualty’s chance of survival until professional medical help arrives.
In addition, the course teaches how to rotate rescuers with minimal interruptions to chest compressions, respond if a casualty vomits or regurgitates, hand over accurate information to emergency services and review emergency responses to improve future performance.
